Ride is a dual channel video projection. Each projection appears as if it is a duplicate of the other. The minimal set frames a traditional white leather armchair in an anonymous setting. Two women appear in each projection, alternating their positions. Only one woman is visible in each projection. One hides the other from the view of the camera in a reciprocal action.

The women take turns sitting on each other’s lap. They are bounced up and down in a playful ritual. Although this is a popular childhood game, the nature of this activity transforms into something more adult. The repetitive gyrations caused by the continuous looping transform the game into an act of endurance. The women’s concentrated expressions are signs that they are trying arduously not to fall.
